Pomerol wine: history, vineyards and climate | Grandcruwijnen
Pomerol
Pomerol is deceptively modest. It’s not filled with grand Châteaux like the Médoc, it’s not a picture-perfect tourist destination like Saint-Émilion, and it doesn’t have a classification system. Yet it’s home to some of the most expensive wines in the world. What makes Pomerol unique are its layers of dense, impermeable blue clay soils lying beneath a limestone crust.
