Description
The fourth generation now runs this classic domaine, founded in 1920, which is constantly working on improving its wines. It is located in a sub-region of the Loire - the Coteax du Layon. The house is considered one of the benchmarks in the region. The Chenin Blanc vineyards are located in the heart of Anjou, between Cholet, Saumur and Angers on a soil of limestone and clay with slate.
The Domaine du Petit Clocher Les Perrières is a 100% Chenin Blanc. Manual harvest of the Chenin Blanc with double manual sorting of overripe grapes that show concentration due to the action of noble rot. After a very long vinification of 3 to 4 months entirely in barrels, the wine matures for 6 months in oak barrels. In the glass, the wine has a golden yellow color with green reflections. The wine is very elegant and fresh-sweet with aromas of dried apples, apricot, pineapple. The taste is powerful and opulent with a beautiful creaminess and makes this sweet wine a model of balance between softness and liveliness. Domaine du Petit Clocher works with great respect for nature, certified by and according to the rules of the HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale).

Goat cheese salad with honey, apple and walnuts
The fresh and sour Sauvignon goes well with the apple and goat's cheese, while the honey goes well with the sweeter style of the Coteaux du Layon.Roasted pumpkin with soft goat cheese and thyme
The earthy and sweet flavours of pumpkin are beautifully refreshed by the Sauvignon Blanc or softened by the gentle sweetness of the Layon.Oven-baked chicken fillet with lemon and rosemary
The fresh citrus notes in the wine enhance the spiciness and make this dish extra lively.Baked cod with fennel and orange peel
The light fish complements the fresh style nicely, while the fennel and orange also combine well with the sweet and floral profile of the Coteaux du Layon.Peking duck with hoisin sauce and crispy vegetables
The savoury and slightly sweet character of the dish forms a surprising balance with the roundness of the Coteaux du Layon and the acids of the Sauvignon.Blue cheese with toasted brioche bread and pear compote
The powerful saltiness of the cheese finds a perfect balance with the honeyed and fruity character of the sweet Loire wine.
