Fresh and accessible sparkling wine from Le Marche with refined bubbles and a lively character.

The Guerrieri winery and the Marche region

Azienda Agraria Guerrieri is a family-run business operating in the Marche region, on Italy's east coast, since 1800. The estate is located in the Metauro Valley, in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, just a few kilometers from the Adriatic Sea. Generation after generation, the Guerrieri family has dedicated itself to sustainable agriculture, with a strong focus on the balance between nature, agriculture, and tradition.

Besides wine, Guerrieri also produces olive oil, grains, and honey. This holistic approach ensures healthy biodiversity and consistent quality in the vineyards. The location at an altitude of 200 meters with a northeasterly orientation offers ideal conditions for top-quality grapes. The climate is mild, with constant air circulation, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly.

Style, grapes and production of Guerrieri Spumante Bianco Extra Dry

The Guerrieri Spumante Bianco Extra Dry is a sparkling wine in the style of Prosecco, but produced in Le Marche using local grape varieties. The wine is made using the Charmat method (second fermentation in tank), which produces a fine and lively mousse while retaining fresh, fruity aromas.

This spumante is a blend of Bianchello and Chardonnay. Harvesting is done manually in the early morning to prevent oxidation and keep the grapes fresh. After a gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine undergoes a secondary fermentation in pressure tanks, after which it ages on the yeast for several months.

Color, smell and taste of Guerrieri Spumante Bianco Extra Dry

The wine has a light straw yellow color with green highlights and a fine, persistent mousse. The nose offers fresh aromas of white flowers, citrus, green apple, and a hint of almond. On the palate, it is elegant and refreshing, with a subtle sweetness (extra dry) that balances beautifully with the acidity.

The alcohol content is around 11%, making this sparkling wine easily digestible. The finish is fresh, fruity, and dry, ideal as an aperitif or with light dishes.

Wijnhuis
