This Loire wine comes from vineyards located in the heart of Anjou, between Cholet, Saumur and Angers on calcareous soils with clay and schist. This 100% Sauvignon blanc has not had any wood aging, only stainless steel to preserve the freshness. The wine is wonderfully fresh, tight, dry. In the nose, the Petit Clocher Sauvignon Blanc has notes of citrus, white peach, almond and honeysuckle. In the mouth the wine is open, fresh with a tight start with lots of citrus and stone fruit, a hint of fresh mint, pleasant structure and a long fresh aftertaste. This is a great Loire wine and an excellent and very affordable alternative to the many expensive Loire wines. Delicious to enjoy as a glass and a good accompaniment to shellfish, grilled fatty fish, soft young cheeses such as goat cheese, white asparagus, grilled vegetables.
