The Chenin Blanc vineyards are located in the heart of Anjou, between Cholet, Saumur and Angers on a soil of limestone and clay with slate. Domaine du Petit Clocher works with great respect for nature, certified by and according to the rules of the HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale).

This Loire wine comes from vineyards located in the heart of Anjou, between Cholet, Saumur and Angers on a calcareous soil with clay and schist. This 100% Sauvignon blanc has not had wood aging, only stainless steel to preserve the freshness. The wine is wonderfully fresh, tight, dry. In the nose the Petit Clocher Sauvignon Blanc has tones of citrus, white peach, almond and honeysuckle. In the mouth the wine is open, fresh with a tight attack with lots of citrus and stone fruit, a hint of fresh mint, pleasant structure and a long fresh finish. This is a great Loire wine and an excellent and very affordable alternative to the many expensive Loire wines. Delicious to enjoy as a glass and a good accompaniment to shellfish, grilled fatty fish, soft young cheeses such as goat cheese, white asparagus, grilled vegetables.

  • Goat cheese, cucumber and mint salad
The fresh vegetables and creamy cheese are nicely refreshed by the citrus profile and acidity of the Sauvignon Blanc.

  • Baked white fish with lemon and dill
The subtle flavour of the fish is enhanced by the spiciness of the dill and the fresh touch of the wine.

  • Green asparagus with a mild vinaigrette
The slightly bitter vegetable matches well with the lively acids and grassy character of the wine.

  • Pasta with spinach, garlic and a dash of lemon cream
The freshness and aromatic power of the wine keep the dish light and balanced.

  • Tuna tartare with avocado and lime
The fresh, soft structure of the tartare is beautifully supported by the acids and citrus aroma of the Sauvignon.

  • Sea bass ceviche with grapefruit and coriander
The citrus and spiciness in the dish enhance the expressive and mineral side of the wine and make for a lively combination.
