Description
The origins of RedHeads Wines and its location in South Australia
RedHeads Wines was founded in 2002 by a group of passionate winemakers who wanted to create small-scale productions using top-quality grapes. The winery began as an experimental cellar in McLaren Vale and is now located in the Barossa Valley. RedHeads is known for its independent approach, sustainable practices, and collaboration with small-scale growers.
The Blue Belle Graciano comes from South Australia, where the climate is warm, yet the influence of sea breezes and cool nights lends balance to the wines. The soils are primarily composed of sand, clay, and limestone, which complements the Graciano grape, which requires structure and acidity for optimal ripening.
The Blue Belle Graciano is a variety produced only in the absolute top years, and in other years, the Graciano grapes are used in RedHeads Studio blends. The vineyard and the quality of the grapes were too good to be lost in a larger blend, so it earned its own place in the range. The fruit comes from One Tree Hill, owned by the Rocca Family. This grower supplies a large portion of the Italian varietals for RedHeads. The Roccat vineyards are located on the same mountain range as Penfolds ' famous Magill vineyards. Penfolds sources its own fruit from here, confirming that the region produces top-quality fruit. The Graciano grapes are fermented in small open-top fermenters and hand-dipped. They are aged for 12 months in French and American oak. The wine matured in bottle for 12 months before release.
The Redheads Blue Belle Graciano is a fruit-driven wine bursting with juicy blueberry fruit flavors and violet aromas, with a hint of spicy oak. Rich in color and full of flavor, it's wonderful on its own or pairs perfectly with seasoned lamb, and of course, perfect for the Green Egg barbecue.

- Lamb meatballs with tomato and cumin: The spicy profile of the meat enhances the savory and earthy elements of the Graciano.
- Ravioli with mushroom filling, sage and beurre noisette: The earthy notes of the filling blend harmoniously with the complexity of the wine.

Redheads Studio winery is located in South Australia in the town of Tanuda, in the Barossa Valley where the dedicated team behind Redheads work tirelessly, from the vine to the bottle and beyond, to ensure the wines can always be in their best condition drunk.
It all started with a few Aussie winemakers who went to France to show the 'old hands' some new tricks there. Australian wine had conquered the world in the 1970s and 1980s. That's why Tony Laithwaite brought some Aussies to France. It was there that the very beginning of RedHead's new viticultural movement was laid.
In a small shed in McLaren Vale, a former Indian restaurant, some winemakers took on the challenge of making their dream come true: making beautiful, creative wines in small volumes with primary focus on quality.
They wanted to make wines without being bothered by all kinds of business worries, which resulted in an explosion of creativity and experiments.
Meanwhile, winery Redheads is making great international progress and they still give young talents the opportunity to let their creativity and talents loose on the best grapes in the region. Redheads Wines says of itself: “A free-spirited, movement liberating the best grapes from the premium labels to make wines with soul, character and personality”
