2020 Redheads Studio Rusty Roof Riesling

Finding the new winery in the Barossa was spoiled for choice. It had started all those years ago in McLaren Vale, but the goal was for the new place to be in the Barossa Valley and this had eventually become Angaston Road. Basically an old barn with a rusty roof (Rusty Roof) and auburn tiles but with so much chardme: a real Redhead The site also has a great vineyard, plenty of space for our the winery - an old Grade II listed cottage - The old barn with 'rusty roof is on its last legs, but it's from Redehaeds and they love it.

The Rusty Roof is named after this special place in the Barossa Valley. It is a 100% Riesling and is one of the jewels in the winery. The current Possum Creek vineyards were planted in 1978 by Murray and Lorraine Heidenreich. Only a small volume is made of the Rusty Roof Riesling and we receive from which the Benelux often only receives around 180 bottles or less.

The Rusty Roof is a 100% raised nose Riesling of lychees, melon and citrus. Very fruity flavors of peach, apricot, nectarine, oak. Very complex in the mouth with nice acidity and well balanced. Clear Riesling nose with a long finish.
