The Verdelho is a Portuguese grape that is best known from the island of Madeira. Verdelho also grows under the name Gouveio in the Portuguese Douro valley. The Verdelho is a white grape from which dry white wines are made, but especially Madeira. Medium dry Madeira is made from this grape because it has a relatively higher sugar content. The grape ripens early. It is found in Portugal, Australia and New Zealand. Wines made from Verdelho are very aromatic and balanced

What does wine from the Verdelho grape taste like?
