Description
From the heart of the Roero area (Piemonte/Barbaresco) comes this beautiful wine. The DOCG Arneis vineyards are located in the municipality of Vezza d'Alba at an altitude of 250 with a south-west location. The soil is calcareous which is nicely reflected in the wine. The vineyard was planted in 1999 with a very low planting density. Montaribaldi makes Vineyard wines as they say and means that the wine must be 'made' in the vineyard and not with all kinds of tinkering in the winery.
The Arneis was a forgotten grape that in Montaribaldi's hands produces beautiful white. In recent years, the Arneis white wines from Piemonte have become very popular, and rightly so, because they produce beautiful, elegant white wines. The grapes for this delicious Roero Arneis are transported in small 20 kilo baskets. The Arneis grapes must be harvested in the second half of September. Once in the winery, the grapes are destemmed, crushed and cooled (temperature of 10-13 ° C). By means of a very light pressing, the skins and the must are separated (soft crush). The must is then left to rest for a few days in stainless steel thermo-conditioned tanks (13 ° C) to separate the cloudy matter. The clear must goes through alcoholic fermentation at a temperature of 15-18 ° C. Alcoholic fermentation lasts about ten days. Once this process is complete, the wine remains in contact with its lees (su lie) for about 6 months. This whole process makes the wine very complex.
In the glass, this Roero Arneis Capural has an intense straw yellow color with an intense nose with floral notes. In the mouth, the wine is full, velvety soft and certainly has a very nice long aftertaste for a white wine. This aromatic, rich full white wine is suitable for fish but given its complexity also great with pasta or as an aperitif. Our advice is not to drink this beautiful white wine too cold. We like to drink it at 12 degrees and at Montaribaldi they even recommend 14 degrees, but if you prefer it more chilled, that is of course also possible.
Perfect for an aperitif with small snacks, Roero Arneis goes well with egg-based starters such as omelettes and vegetarian pies, fish and white meat dishes, fresh pasta with delicate sauces and creamy risotto.
FACT: All Montaribaldi wines have a fantastic storage potential and this white Roero Arneis is also a wine that gets a very special character with a few years of aging. Fruit and freshness remain in the wine with pleasant oxidative tones. The Roero Arrneis was recently released 10 years after the fact. Can be ordered from us on request. In the Tab: Attachment you will find the official fact sheet of this beautiful wine. We will automatically send it to you when you order this wine. The wine is in our conditioned Wine Warehouse and if you come to pick up the wine you will often also receive a nice discount. We are located almost next to the Rijksweg with plenty of parking space. 1. Vitello tonnato with capers and lemon mayonnaise
The tender veal and creamy tuna sauce are refreshed by the citrus aromas and acidity in the wine. The salty capers and creamy texture are a perfect match for the light body of the Arneis.
2. Risotto with courgette, lemon and mint
The fresh acids of the wine enhance the light character of this vegetarian dish, while the lemon and mint complement the floral and citrus notes of the wine.
3. Cod with a beurre blanc and fennel
The subtle taste of the cod and the soft sauce are balanced by the freshness of the wine. The fennel adds an aniseed accent that goes well with the mineral finish.
4. Salad with goat cheese, pear and walnut
The combination of the creamy, salty goat's cheese, the sweet pear and the nutty crunch forms a harmonious whole with the aromas of white fruit and almond in the wine.
5. Scallop tartare with green apple and lime oil
The delicate texture of the scallops and the fresh, sour character of the apple enhance the pure style of the Arneis. The light fatness of the oil is nicely balanced by the acidity in the wine.
6. Ravioli filled with ricotta and truffle, served with melted butter and sage
The creamy filling and earthy truffle tones are given extra refinement by the freshness of the wine. The sage matches the subtle spiciness and depth of the Arneis, without being overpowering.

The 'azienda agricola Montaribaldi' is historically a family business, located in the middle of the Langhe hills in the small village of Barbaresco. The Montaribaldi winery has been owned by the Taliano family from the beginning and has 19 hectares in the Barberesco area. In 1994 Luciano and Roberto took over the company from their father and immediately decided to only produce high quality wines. It is still a real family business, father Guiseppe and mother Carla as well as the wives of the owners, Antonella and Franca all cooperate. At present they produce about 75000 bottles a year. Thanks to the perfect location of the vineyards of Montaribaldi and the typical white soil of the hills in Langhe, the elegant wines that come from them have a long life. Note that the land around the Montaribaldi vineyards is from Gaja. The family makes some of the most famous wines from the Piedmont region: Barbaresco DOCG, Barolo DOCG, Barbera d'Alba DOC, Barbera d'Asti DOCG, Roero Arneis. They offer a complete range of wines, from grapes typical of this region. Typical of this winery is that the wines have their origin in Piedmont, are always recognizable as a 'Montaribaldi' wine and are sustainably grown and produced. As they call it themselves: making 'vineyard wines' distinguishes them from others.
