Les Arums de Lagrange 2024 Bordeaux Blanc

Les Arums de Lagrange 2024 is a refined and expressive dry white wine from Bordeaux, produced by Château Lagrange. The wine comes from an 11-hectare vineyard in Cussac-Fort-Médoc and Saint-Laurent-Médoc, planted on gravelly sand and calcareous clay soils. This terroir contributes to the freshness, elegance and structure of the wine.

Grapes and harvest of Les Arums Bordeaux Blanc

The blend of this vintage consists of 70% Sauvignon Blanc, 16% Sémillon and 14% Sauvignon Gris. The grapes were harvested manually between 10 and 23 September 2024, in the early morning to preserve their aromatic freshness.

Vinification and maturation

After soft pressing and cold settling, fermentation took place in French oak barrels (40% new), followed by seven months maturation on the fine lees. A conscious choice was made not to apply malolactic fermentation in order to preserve the natural liveliness.

Tasting note of the Legrange Les Arums

Les Arums 2024 shows an expressive nose with aromas of citrus and white peach, complemented by floral notes of lime and lilac. In the mouth the wine is both lively and supple, with a nice balance, light wood influence and an elegant, long finish.

The Japanese group, Suntory, acquired the domain in 1983. Marcel Ducasse was then recruited together with Kenji Suzuta to carry out the complete restructuring of the vineyard and a spectacular renovation of the entire estate. This first step was to mark the rebirth of Chateau Lagrange. After twenty years of dedicated work, as well as human and technical investments, Lagrange is once again one of the top Grand Cru Classé , focusing over the last twenty years on the production of refined, elegant and expressive wines, in the best Saint-Julien style but also with production methods that substantially reduce the ecological impact.

Located entirely within the Saint-Julien appellation, the Lagrange vineyard stretches in a single block over two north-south rises of Gunzian gravelly soil. In parts large and coarse and in others finer, this gravel is combined with sand or iron-rich clay, depending on the plot. With a height of 24 meters, the center of the domain marks the highest point of Saint-Julien. The estate covers 182 hectares (450 acres), of which 118 hectares (292 acres) are under vines. Most plots have a drainage system.
