Description
The sauvignon grapes for this wine were grown in the sub-regions of Taylor Pass, Lower Wairau, Hawkesbury and Awatere in Marlborough. Each parcel was individually tended throughout the growing season to ensure the grapes reached their optimum maturity. With a dedicated harvesting team, they were able to harvest each parcel individually as soon as the fruit was ripe and the flavours were perfect. At the winery, the grapes were pressed into stainless steel tanks for cold settling, the juice was then allowed to ferment gently at cool temperatures to enhance the aromas and flavours of the wine. The wine was then left on the lees for a short period before being pumped over. Then came the fun part; each batch was tasted and the final blend was created! The resulting wine was then cold stabilised, filtered, bottled and sealed with a screw cap to ensure perfect freshness.
In the glass, this Jules Taylor MARLBOROUGH SAUVIGNON BLANC is very pale yellow in colour with explosive aromas of passion fruit, grapefruit, lemon peel and lemon zest on the nose followed by hints of basil and thyme. This expressive wine captures the essence of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Ripe, exuberant citrus and passion fruit flavours combine with a hint of wet stones. The palate is dry, complex and powerful, ending with a concentrated, mouthwatering finish.
Delicious with fresh sourdough bread dipped in good quality olive oil. As a main course, a crispy fried snapper fillet with warm Puy lentils and a spicy lemon sauce is an excellent choice.

Founded, owned and operated in Marlborough by Jules and George, Jules Taylor Wines is the successful result of big dreams, hard work and a healthy dose of not taking ourselves too seriously. Born in Marlborough in the year the first vines were planted, Jules literally grew up with Sauvignon Blanc. Local maid Jules used her postgraduate diploma in viticulture and oenology for several years as a winemaker for one of Marlborough's largest wineries, and then as a Consultant Winemaker for the region's most prestigious brand.
In 2001, Jules Taylor Wines was created as a small side hustle with only 200 boxes. Five years, two children, and many, many late nights later, George and Jules made the nerve-wracking decision to risk it all, quit their day jobs, and give their dream a chance. Today, Jules makes her harvest decisions in the vineyard, purely on taste rather than through laboratory analyses. Regardless of the cost, Jules will only release a wine if she is completely satisfied that it has met her standards. Jules left her corporate winemaking career to give her the freedom to make wines the way she thinks they should be made. She only makes one batch of each wine per harvest. So enjoy it while you can. When it's gone, it's really gone.
