Château Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes Grand Vin Blanc Sec is a prestigious white wine from our Premier Cru Classé terroir in Sauternes. This wine is produced from a specific selection of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc plots, with vines that are on average 45 years old. These carefully selected plots provide a wine that perfectly reflects the elegance and concentration of these grape varieties. It is a true reflection of the power of our terroir.
Harvest conditions 2023
- Autumn and Winter 2022/2023 : A late autumn and winter with much sought after rainfall (350 mm in total, 30% more than the previous year).
- April 4 and 5 : A period of frost, but fortunately with limited impact thanks to late bud formation.
- Spring : Dry and warm, which contributed to good development of the vines and beautiful flowering of bunches.
- July : Rainfall and high temperatures led to mildew, which was fortunately kept under control.
- August : A cool, cloudy start to the month, followed by dry and warm weather for the perfect ripening of the grapes.
The harvest for the dry white wines started on August 24 with the plots of young vines and ended on September 8, a total of 12 days. The style of the wine is fresh, with good fruit, generosity and great minerality. For Château Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes Grand Vin Blanc Sec, the plots were harvested from August 25 to September 8.
