2021 Antonio Caggiano Fiagre Campania Bianco

Made from a beautiful combination of 70% Fiano di Avellino and 30% Greco di Tufo grapes. Fiano is an autochthonous white grape from Campania, which is in the same aroma area as greco, but generally has a little less acidity and often more exuberant fruit fat with ripe apple and a waxy texture. Wines based on fiano also have great aging potential. Together with greco and falanghina, the Fiano forms the typicality of white grapes in Campania.

This tasty, fresh and fruity white wine has a beautiful straw yellow color, and is nicely balanced with its aromas of (white) fruit and minerals. The wine is very flavoursome, has a broad palate and a soft taste with a wonderfully long lasting aroma of sweet spices, blond tobacco and a delicate aroma of roasting. Well balanced and nice acidity.

This Fiagre Campania Bianco is produced by the Italian quality winery Antonio Caggiano from Campania . One of the top wineries we like to associate our name with! That is why this beautiful winery has been included in our Grandcru wines exclusive range.

The wine comes from vineyards in areas where the DOCG Greco di Tufo and Fiano di Avellino are traditionally produced. The vineyards are located there at about 400 meters above sea level. The soil of the vineyards is a mixture of clay and limestone. The grapes are harvested in mid-October. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats. The wine then ages for about 6 months in the bottle. Suckling gives these wines (2017) no less than 94/100 points. Quite unique for a wine in this price range. The Fiagre Campania Blanco tastes great with a meal with fish, shellfish and crustaceans. Also delicious with vegetarian dishes, starters and with a nice drink with snacks.
