Description
Yealands produces wines in Marlborough, on the northeast coast of the South Island. The vineyard for Southbank is located far inland where the Waihopai River flows into the Wairau River. The Southbank Sauvignon Blanc is a soft, aromatic variant of the renowned Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Southbank uses state-of-the-art winemaking techniques. The grapes are picked at peak ripeness, and the skins are macerated for at least 12 hours. Vinification and aging then take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel cuvées. In the glass, the Southbank Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is pale yellow with a green hue. The nose is expressive with notes of gooseberries, boxwood, and mown grass. On the palate, this crisp, energetic Sauvignon Blanc has a soft attack, is juicy with sufficient freshness, and has a good finish.

Wijnhuis
Southbank Estate wines are part of a large producer of New Zealand wines called Yealands. They produce wines in Marlborough to be precise. The wines for the Southbank range come from vineyards near the Waihopai River and the Wairau River. Here it is dry and cool and different temperatures between day and night quite a bit. This results in fresh wines with a special character. Southbank's wines are all made with premium grapes. It's all about quality, which means that we harvest selectively. They are going to work sustainably, so you will regularly see sheep grazing between the vineyards. As a result, less mowing is required and the soil gets new nutrition.
