Description
In 1953, Chateau Olivier was classified for both red and white because of its top terroir. Chateau Olivier the first castle you come across on the right before entering the rural village of Léognan. The beautiful castle is surrounded by forests and the vineyard has a fantastic terroir of graves with a deep layer of clay and chalk. Serious quality improvements have been noticeable since Laurent Lebrun took over overall management. Only 1/5 of the total production is white wine. This domain belongs to the "Rising Stars" of the appellation. The Château is now HVE3 certified (respect for the environment) and ISO 14001 since 2016. No endocrine disrupting products are used and 70% of the treatments are with products labeled Bio or Bio control.
In the glass, the Chateau Olivier Blanc is light yellow. The nose is very expressive with citrus notes. The attack is lively with citrus flavors present, peach. In the mouth, the wine is wonderfully fresh with a mineral, somewhat spicy aftertaste. The finish is long and the fruity notes remain. Extremely handsome white Grand Cru Classé Graves

Although the history of Château Olivier dates back to the 12th century, Château Olivier as we know it today was designed by the Bethmann family. The Bethmann family is one of the oldest Bordeaux families and has been the proud owners of Château Olivier since 1886.
It is the many innovations and the vision of the Bethmann family, which constantly moves with the times, that have allowed Château Olivier to receive its classification as Grand Cru Classé de Graves in 1953 for both its red and white wines. The approximately 50 hectares of vineyards of Château Olivier are located about 11 kilometers south of the city of Bordeaux and are on average 20 years old. These older vines provide more concentrate and depth to the wines. To this day, Château Olivier's vineyards are harvested by hand and transported in small crates to the cellar, where they are carefully selected for ripeness and quality.
