Since the takeover in 1995 by Dutch businessman Eric Albada Jelgersma, Chateau Giscours is back in full force with its fantastic terroir. The estate comprises over 80 hectares of vineyards and produces a very reliable, but above all classic Margaux with great depth. In addition to their famous red wine, they produce a Cabernet Sauvignon-driven rosé of very high quality in very small quantities, namely Le Rosé X Giscours. This wine saw the light of day for the first time with the 2018 vintage.
Le Rosé x Giscours is a terroir rosé. It impresses with its light color and delicate aromas of white flowers. This small-scale produced wine will make an impression on any table, regardless of the season, and despite its short existence, has already become a new signature wine! This Le Rosé X Giscours is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from a plot specifically selected for this rosé. The grapes are harvested early to preserve freshness and fruity aromas. This fine rosé from Giscours has a beautiful, very light pink color with subtle hints of raspberry, strawberry, and a touch of herbs on the nose, and on the palate, this Rosé has a complex yet refreshing flavor profile. Not an average terrace rosé, but a serious wine... and of course, this wine is fantastic on a terrace, but you understand what we mean. It is also worth mentioning that this rosé has a very moderate alcohol percentage of only 12%. Gastronomically, this is also a great wine – delicious with spicy food such as Thai or Asian cuisine. Also wonderful with sushi or vegetable dishes with oven-baked chicken.
FUN FACT: The wine is stored in our climate-controlled Wine Warehouse, and if you come to pick up the wine, you often receive a nice discount. You will see your discount immediately when you select 'Pick up' on the checkout page. We are located in Dordrecht with ample parking. Click here for our address.
WINE AND FOOD SUGGESTIONS:
Salad with grilled chicken, avocado, and mustard dressing
The juiciness of the chicken and the creaminess of the avocado call for a wine with freshness and structure. The lightly spiced dressing is picked up by the subtle spiciness in the rosé, without overpowering it.
Grilled salmon with green asparagus and lemon
The fatty texture of salmon calls for a wine with acidity. The fresh, fruity style of the rosé keeps the dish in balance, while the asparagus and lemon underscore the elegance of the wine.
Pasta with grilled vegetables and Parmesan cheese
The grilled flavors of bell pepper, zucchini, and eggplant pair well with the light red fruit in the wine. The Parmesan adds a savory touch that combines well with the structure of this rosé.
Tuna tartare with sesame and soy sauce
The umami in the tuna and the saltiness of the soy sauce are beautifully supported by the fruity and mineral freshness of the wine. The rosé is powerful enough to complement raw fish dishes.
Quiche with spinach, goat cheese, and sun-dried tomatoes
The creaminess of the goat cheese and the savory taste of the tomato pair well with the fresh acidity and floral aromas of the rosé. The wine keeps the dish light and elegant.

Very elegant and subtle nose with freshly cut pears and nectarines, as well as a minerally undertone. Bright, with high acidity, crisp fruit and a medium-length, mouthwatering finish. Thirst-quenching. 100% cabernet sauvignon harvested early and pressed directly into the vats for fermentation. Fresh and lively. Drink now.

Giscours was in a dubious state when Nicolas Tari acquired it in 1954. Substantial investments followed and quality improved by leaps and bounds. In 1995 Giscours came into the possession of the Dutch grocer (supermarkets to Super de Boer and Edah) Eric Albada Jelgersma, who also invested heavily here, just like at his other Château du Tertre property and further improved the quality through a rigorous replanting and replanting program. The cellars were shed and new equipment was purchased. Today Giscours is again “the grand seigneur” it once was and worthy of a 3rd cru. With 200 ha of which 80 ha of vineyard one of the greatest assets in the Médoc.
