One family: Antinori, one passion: Wine. Brothers Piero and Lodovico Antinori own the magnificent Tenuta di Biserna in Tocane. According to Parker, "Tenuta di Biserno remains one of the best-kept secrets in Bolgheri." The Pino di Bisernos is a true representation of the unique wine estate owned by Tenuta di Biserna. The special blend of grapes creates a classic Bolgheri wine. Il Pino beautifully showcases the character of Tenuta di Biserna. The nose reveals a blend of black fruit, spices, and hints of dark chocolate. This translates on the palate into a beautifully complex wine with a long finish. The wine is elegant with softer, ripe tannins. A delicious wine from Tenuta di Biserna from the magnificent 2018 vintage.

The Tenuta di Biserno 2018 Il Pino di Biserno is Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc from the sun-kissed coast of Tuscany. This is a velvety and nicely extracted expression that delivers textbook aromas of dark fruit, dried blackberry, spice, leather, tar and tobacco. Comparatively speaking, this vintage is leaner compared to past editions. The wine is not quite full-bodied, but almost, and it offers the textural emphasis and power to pair with a filet mignon, cooked rare and seared briefly on either side over an open fire.

In 1995, Lodovico Antinori discovered the potential of an area on the outskirts of Bolgheri for viticulture. After an evaluation, he saw the unique characteristics of this area and was convinced that he could create something new and unique in the wine world. A few years later, the Antinori family (Piero, Lodovico, Ilaria and his son Niccolò) and landowner Umberto Mannoni started founding Tenuta di Biserno. Adjacent to the historic village of Bolgheri, with a beautiful view of the Tyrrhenian sea.
The Tuscan winery has 49 hectares of estate and is located in Alta Maremma in western Tuscany between the hills of Bibbona. Due to the specific soil and climate characteristics, the area is divided into two zones. The Bolgheri area has a subsoil of rock; on these 40 hectares, the vines for Biserno and Il Pino di Biserno are planted. The vines planted on the vineyards are mainly Cabernet Franc and Merlot and in smaller quantities Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Tenuta Campo di Sasso, on the other hand, has 56 hectares with mixed (and mainly) sandy soils. This area is close to the sea and is therefore very suitable for varieties such as Syrah and Vermentino. Occhione and Insoglio del Cinghiale come from this area.
