A delicious-full bodied Aglianico wine this Salae Domini Irpinia Campi Taurasini DOC from the top Italian winery Antonio Caggiano from Campania. The vineyards in Taurasi where this beautiful wine comes from are located at about 350 meters above sea level, and are surrounded by an atmosphere of folklore, age-old traditions, historical architecture and religion. The city of Taurasi has a historic city center with amazing architectural highlights and ancient art pieces. Old churches and chapels beautify the area with its many folkloric festivals and traditions. Taurasi is an important wine center for the region. The soil of the vineyards is a mixture of clay and limestone. The grapes for this wine are always harvested fairly late in the season, late October / early November. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vessels, always at a controlled temperature. The wine ages in beautiful French oak barrels from the Troncai, Allier and Vosges regions for a period of about 8 to 10 months, depending on the grapes.

The wine has a deep ruby red color and smells wonderfully fruity. A hearty red wine with delicious spices, roasted nuts and a fine light hint of licorice and tar. The wine is nicely balanced, velvety and delicate in the mouth and has a high concentration of beautiful ripe tannins.

This Salae Domini tastes delicious with dishes with beautiful beef or lamb. Can also be combined with pasta dishes.
