What's in the package?
1. San Marzano Il Pumo Chardonnay
Origin : San Marzano, Salento, Puglia, Italy
Vinification : Stainless steel only
Tasting notes : Very drinkable with plenty of freshness and lovely fresh fruit. Aromas of jasmine, wild roses, pineapple, and banana. The palate is elegant, refreshing, and delicate.
Climate and Influence :
Climate: Mediterranean, with warm summers and mild winters.
Influence: The warm climate produces ripe grapes with abundant fruit aromas and lower acidity. The daily temperature fluctuations promote the development of aromatic complexity.
Vinification method :
Stainless steel: The wine ferments and ages in stainless steel tanks, without any wood, preserving the freshness and fruity aromas of the grape. Wines are generally lighter, fresher, and have higher acidity.
2. De Wetshof Estate Chardonnay Sur Lie
Origin : Robertson, South Africa
Vinification : Sur lie (on its own must)
Tasting notes : Bright straw yellow with an open aroma of citrus, apple, and minerality. Full of finesse, fresh acidity, and a lovely length. The sur lie aging adds complexity to the wine.
Climate and Influence :
Climate: Semi-arid, with warm days and cool nights.
Influence: The cool nights help to preserve the acidity in the grapes, resulting in wines with a good balance between freshness and fruitiness.
Vinification method :
Sur Lie: After fermentation, the wine remains in contact with the dead yeast cells (lie) for an extended period, adding complexity and a creamy texture. Additional flavors such as breadcrumbs and nuts emerge, while the wine retains a certain freshness and minerality.
3. Domaine Astruc Chardonnay Réserve Sud de France
Origin : Limoux, Languedoc, France
Vinification : Wood-matured (95% Chardonnay, 5% Mauzac)
Tasting notes : Light, fresh golden yellow color with intense notes of flowers, brioche, vanilla, pineapple, lime, and quince. Full-bodied, rich, with a remarkable length. Partial malolactic fermentation preserves the fresh acidity.
Climate and Influence :
Climate: Temperate, with influences from the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
Influence: The moderate temperatures and diverse soil types give the wine a good balance between acidity and ripeness, with complex aromas and flavors.
Vinification method :
Oak-aged: The wine is aged in oak barrels, which influences the wine's character. Oak-aged wines develop additional aromas such as vanilla, toast, and butter. They are often fuller and more complex, with a softer acidity due to malolactic fermentation.
