Philipp Kuhn - the star of the Palatinate. Since the early 1990s, he has been making powerful Pinot wines and fine Rieslings in the Palatinate. At the age of 19, Philipp Kuhn, born in 1972, was thrown into the deep end: Because his father was seriously ill, he had to take over responsibility for the parental company. The passionate winemaker with a distinct sense of tradition then worked his way to the top of Germany over the past 20 years.
He now distinguishes himself not only with his Burgunders and Rieslings, but also makes special wines from international grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Sauvignon Blanc and even Viognier. Kuhn applies a strict quality selection, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, leading to low yields of even less than 40 hl/ha. All that matters at Phillipp Kuhn is quality.
