Description
Weingut Bauer is located in the picturesque Nußdorf, a small village just south of Frankfurt. In recent years, the current generation has made significant investments in the winery. The cellars have been renovated and the press house modernized. This has paid off, as Emil Bauer wines are acclaimed worldwide. The grapes for Emil Bauer Riesling Trocken are grown in the Palatinate, a wine region with approximately the same amount of sunshine as Mediterranean vineyards. This allows the Riesling grapes to develop exceptionally well, which is perfectly expressed in the aroma and flavor of Emil Bauer Riesling Trocken.
The Emil Bauer & Söhne winery is a fifth-generation family business run by Alexander and Martin Bauer. The picturesque Nußdorf winery in Rhineland-Palatinate offers excellent wine-growing conditions. Significant improvements to the barrel cellar and wine press have further improved the quality of the wines in recent years, prompting both winemakers to be nominated for "Newcomer of the Year" at the Falstaff winery. A wide range of grape varieties are grown here, typical of the Palatinate. Alongside classics like Riesling, Grauburgunder, Weißburgunder, and Silvaner, international varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc are also found.
The Emil Bauer Riesling Trocken is greenish-yellow in the glass. It has an aromatic nose with notes of peach, green apple, and white flowers. A fruity Riesling with characteristic freshness and a hint of honey. This Riesling is aged on its lees (sur lie) for 3-4 months. In the glass, the Emil Bauer Riesling has a classic Riesling with a fruity, dry flavor and crisp acidity. Highly recommended as an aperitif and delicious with Asian food, cheese fondue, and fish.
Hubrecht Duijker
“The simply labelled Riesling is not bad, given its spicy-fresh, elegant, fruity (lime, grapefruit, pear slice) flawless taste that went wonderfully with sushi in the Duijker household”,

Winery Emil Bauer & Söhne is a family business run by the fifth generation: Alexander and Martin Bauer. In picturesque Nußdorf in Rhineland-Palatinate, the best conditions for viticulture can be found. The drastic improvements in the barrel cellar and the wine press have made the quality of the wines even better in recent years, which is why both winemakers were nominated as 'Newcomer of the Year 2014' at the Falstaff. A large number of grape varieties are grown here, which is typical of the Palatinate. In addition to classics such as Riesling, Grauburgunder, Weißburgunder and Silvaner, there are also international varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. But all this is nothing compared to what the brothers have developed in the field of label design. The revolutionary 'Just Riesling' label is already a legend and the other provocative labels are just as successful; Each label tells a part of the life of the two brothers, about how they are and how they think.
