Juggernaut is part of the Bogle Family Wine Collection from California and produces wines with character. Born on rugged slopes, the wines are powerful, full-bodied, and expressive. The emphasis is on the idea that challenges in the wine landscape build character – just as the wines do.

Juggernaut's 2022 Chardonnay hails from coastal Sonoma County, where cool ocean influences produce slow-ripening grapes with aromatic tension. The vineyards benefit from morning mist, strong sea breezes, and poor, well-draining soils. These conditions yield Chardonnay with vibrant acidity, minerality, and concentrated flavor nuances.

Vinification: combination of wood and freshness

This wine features a sophisticated balance between oak and stainless steel fermentation. 86% of the must is fermented in one- to two-year-old French oak barriques, which imparts subtle oak notes and texture. The remaining 14% is fermented in stainless steel to preserve the pure fruit expression. Aging on lie enhances the mouthfeel and adds creaminess without sacrificing freshness.

Color, smell and taste

In the glass, this Chardonnay shows a bright, pale golden color with green reflections.

The nose is aromatic and precise: lemon meringue pie, green apple, Asian pear and a hint of honeysuckle.

On the palate, the wine is taut and fresh with a core of ripe white fruit, soft oak notes, a hint of vanilla, buttercream, and a light salty tension. The acidity is lively, the structure silky, and the finish clean, with a fine, chalky grip.

About the Great White Shark on the label

Great white sharks are often spotted in the cold, choppy waters north of San Francisco, along the Sonoma coast. In this region, vineyards battle fog, mist, and cool summer temperatures. These conditions help preserve the grapes' acidity, giving the wine desirable structure—and perhaps a little bite, too. When we were looking for an alpha predator for Juggernaut's Chardonnay, there was no better match than this "great white."

The freshness of the asparagus and the saltiness of the cheese complement the juicy and structured profile beautifully.

3. Linguine with clams, garlic and chili oil
The salty seafood and light spiciness are nicely counterbalanced by the fresh acidity and subtle wood influence.

4. Roasted chicken with thyme, lemon and roasted almonds
The combination of crispy skin, herbs and citrus makes this wine an elegant accompaniment.

5. Risotto with peas, lemon zest and basil
The creaminess and green character are brightened by the wine's structure and lively acidity.

The Bogle family has been growing wines since the nineteenth century. It wasn't until around 1968 that the family planted the first vines near Clarksburgh USA. After years of hard work, the Bogle family has more than 1,200 acres of viticulture in California. With the growth of the company, the family established a name within the wine world, both in America and abroad. The main reason for the success is that the family is engaged in the production of wine on a daily basis. The family understands that high quality wines start with excellent grape varieties. They ensure this by working organically with respect for the land and the environment. The story behind the pheasant on the labels of the wines is as follows. The family wanted a label that reflected the region of the vineyards. The family came into contact with the artist Paul Lorenzi, who was sketching the wines one evening. Suddenly a beautiful pheasant sat in the middle of the vineyard. The Bogle wines label was born!

Bogle Vineyards works organically. Bogle is certified by several agencies: California Certified Sustainable Winegrowing, Lodi Rules Certified Green Certificate and the “Sacramento Area Sustainable Business” Certificate.
