Description
The Bogle family has been active in agriculture for over 100 years. Since the late 1960s, they have also grown grapes in California's Clarksburg wine region and later in Lodi. Bogle is certified by several agencies: California Certified Sustainable Winegrowing, Lodi Rules Certified Green Certificate, and the Sacramento Area Sustainable Business Certificate.
The Bogle Phantom Red is Bogle Vineyards' flagship red wine. A blend of 52% Petite Sirah and 48% Zinfandel, it has been aged for 25 months in 2- to 3-year-old American oak barrels. The nose reveals aromas of baked cherries, leather, and ripe cranberries, framed by notes of nutmeg, peppercorns, anise, and juniper from the Petite Sirah and Zinfandel varietals. Don't be fooled by the alluring nose. Upon first sip, the Phantom is generous and mouth-filling with dark fruit and ample tannins. While the Phantom is perfect today, it can easily age for another 10 years or so.

The Bogle family has been growing wines since the nineteenth century. It wasn't until around 1968 that the family planted the first vines near Clarksburgh USA. After years of hard work, the Bogle family has more than 1,200 acres of viticulture in California. With the growth of the company, the family established a name within the wine world, both in America and abroad. The main reason for the success is that the family is engaged in the production of wine on a daily basis. The family understands that high quality wines start with excellent grape varieties. They ensure this by working organically with respect for the land and the environment. The story behind the pheasant on the labels of the wines is as follows. The family wanted a label that reflected the region of the vineyards. The family came into contact with the artist Paul Lorenzi, who was sketching the wines one evening. Suddenly a beautiful pheasant sat in the middle of the vineyard. The Bogle wines label was born!
