Description
Isabelle et Denis Pommier, or Pommier as they are known, is a small family producer from Chablis that produces pristine high-quality wines that are highly appreciated internationally. Isabelle and Denis Pommier cherish the unique soil in Chablis, where they have owned vineyards since 1990. They started with 2 hectares, on which the family grew grapes, the juice of which was sold to other winemakers. In the following years, they planted vines in Chablis and Petit Chablis. With their first own wine, in 1994, they immediately won the Concours des Vins de Chablis.
In the meantime, the vineyard has been expanded to 16 hectares in the appellations Petit Chablis, Chablis and Chablis premier cru. With this size, it is still a real family domain. Pommier works with respect for nature and is in conversion to organic. The wines are pure with the beautiful mineral tones that are so specific to Chablis, but also juicy and round in taste due to the clay-rich soil. Both in France (e.g. the Guide Hachette) and internationally (e.g. Robert Parker) the wines are regularly awarded. Parker calls Pommier one of the Chablis houses that is undergoing the most spectacular development.
The Troesmes vineyard is a sub-parcel within the larger Beauroy Premier Cru appellation. The vineyard benefits from a favourable exposure and a unique soil structure which contributes to the complexity and minerality of the wine.
Isabelle and Denis Pommier are committed to sustainable and organic winegrowing practices. They are committed to hand-harvesting their grapes, which is rare in the Chablis region. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, and for the Premier Cru wines, such as Troesmes, about a third of the wine is fermented and aged in used oak barrels, while the rest remains in stainless steel tanks. This method ensures a balance between freshness and complexity.
The Chablis 1er Cru Troesmes offers a harmonious balance between ripe fruit and lively acidity. Tasting notes include hints of stone fruit and citrus, supported by a mineral undertone typical of Chablis wines. The wine has a medium body with a rounded texture and a refreshing finish. A beautiful Premier Cru Chablis from a beautiful year.

The Chablis is one of the most famous and appreciated wine regions in the world. The cool climate and especially the special soil provide wines with a striking freshness and minerality. This ancient Kimmeridge soil consists of a mixture of clay, lime and fossil shellfish. Isabelle and Denis Pommier cherish this unique soil in Chablis, where they have owned vineyards since 1990. They started with 2 hectares, on which the family grew grapes whose juice was sold to other winemakers. In the following years they planted vines in the Chablis and the Petit Chablis. With their first own wine, in 1994, they immediately won the Concours des Vins de Chablis.

Pommier works with respect for nature and is in conversion to organic. The wines are pure with the beautiful mineral and steel notes that are so specific to Chablis, but also juicy and round in taste due to the clay-rich soil. Both in France (eg the Guide Hachette) and at an international level (eg Robert Parker) the wines are regularly awarded. Parker calls Pommier one of the Chablis houses that is undergoing the most spectacular development.
