2021 San Marzano Talò Chardonnay

In 1962, 19 winemakers, determined to demonstrate the high potential of wines from Salento, founded "Cantine San Marzano". The Talò series from San Marzano are all very fine wines with authentic Puglia grapes with aging in oak barrels. elegant, complex and, as with all San Marzano wines, an excellent price/quality ratio.

This chardonnay from the Talò series comes from vineyards located in Salento, Puglia. The area is about 100 meters above sea level, with a dry microclimate and good water retention. After harvest, the grapes are destemmed and before being pressed, they are left to rest with their skins at low temperatures for several hours in order to extract the delicate floral notes while retaining the beautiful acidity which is so important in a well-made chardonnay. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for 13-15 days at 15°C and then the wine ages for about 4-6 months in French oak barrels.

The San Marzano Talò Chardonnay is straw yellow in the glass with aromas of white flowers and tropical fruit with notes of vanilla due to the maturation in oak barrels. In the mouth, this wine is elegant, fresh and mineral due to the ferruginous red soil. Delicious with pastas with fish and starters. Excellent with cheese and perfect as a standalone 'enjoy glass'
