2021 Herdade do Sobroso Reserva Branco

The Herdade do Sobroso Branco Barrique Select is made from 100% Antão Vaz grape. With this wine, the winery carefully examines the exact right moment of ripeness of the grapes. And when this moment comes, the grapes are picked by hand and then destemmed and lightly crushed. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel barrels at a controlled temperature for 25 days, after which the wine is allowed to mature further in oak barrels for 6 months "Sur Lie" and is then bottle-aged for some time.

The Sobro Branco Barrique Select has a clear color in the glass with a very light green/yellowish tinge. Fresh notes of flowers and tropical fruits on the nose. The wine is medium-bodied in the mouth, somewhat spicy and very layered with the complexity of the Antão Vaz, which gives the wine extra freshness and intensity. This wine reflects the terroir of Alentejo. This is a real terroir wine and is a nice gastronomic glass with refined fish such as sea bream, tuna or grilled brill. Also a great wine that combines ideally with creamy sauces with rich fish dishes and ripe cheeses.

Registered vinologist and culinary journalist Anne-Wies van Oosten recommends this wine with a bouillabaisse with redfish, cod, catfish, peeled mussels, prawns and raw squid rings.
