Description
After working alongside his father for several years, Antoine has been officially in charge of this prestigious property since 2007. Although Francois has been enjoying his retirement for several years, he can still be found in the vineyards and cellar almost every day to assist his son. With the arrival of Antoine, the style of the wines has changed slightly. A few minor changes during winemaking have made them more accessible and refined, without losing their character. Antoine prefers to work with finer lies than his father. He also bottles the wine in April/May of the second year following the harvest. These are just details, but the quality of the wines has further increased.
In August 2019, Antoine was able to lease the vineyards of Domaine André Mussy, a once flourishing domain in Pommard. The vineyards are completely organic and have never seen chemicals, and Antoine spent a lot of time revitalizing them well before the 2019 harvest – an effort that really shines through in his brilliant first effort with these vines.
Antoine Jobard Pomaard is a 100% Pinot Noir from the village of Pommard in Burgundy in France. Pommard is known for its rustic power, and Jobard harnesses that power, but can add a little polish. Jobard's Pommard Village 2020 has notes of dark berries, plums, herbs and petals, followed by a medium to full, more muscular and structured palate than its Beaune and Volnay wines.

The 2020 Pommard offers up notes of sweet plums, orange rind, spices and peonies. Medium-bodied, supple and seamless, it's an elegant, perfumed wine of considerable charm and appeal.
One of Santenay's emerging talents, David Moreau took over some four hectares of his family's nine-hectare domaine in 2009, a share that he has augmented little by little ever since, arriving at a total of six today. He uses no herbicides and seeks to use treatments that are as innocuous as possible. Grapes are picked into small baskets, and reds see a gentle maceration with a certain proportion of whole bunch; whites are whole-cluster pressed and vinified in 300-liter barrels. In the cellar, Moreau feels he has found his personal style since 2013, emphasizing gentle extraction of tannin and pursuing structural elegance, at the same time hoping to produce wines that age. The style is delicate and charming, and the 2020 vintage has turned out very nicely.

From: Dance the Quickstep: Burgundy 2020 (Dec 2021)
The 2020 Pommard Village comes from three lieux-dits. The bouquet is very focused though not as forthcoming as the Montreveneaux, a light marine/seaweed scent in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with a mixture of red and black fruit, lightly spiced with a touch of white pepper and clove on the finish. You can feel the energy here. A Pommard Village from the top drawer.

This winery is one of the most stylish and consistent wineries to be found in Burgundy and the wines of this winery are usually paired with the best Meursalts. Other famous wineries such as Coche and Ravenau see Jobard as the ultimate example when it comes to meursault wines.

These are only details, but the quality of the wines has increased further. Nothing has changed with regard to the work in the vineyards. The Jobards work long hours in the vine. Their 5 hectares are severely pruned and they only work with unproductive varieties to keep yields low. In the cellar, Jobard gives his wine time. After slow fermentation (Jobard's cellars are particularly cold), using only the natural yeast cultures, the wines are left to mature for a long time. The wines are bottled without filtering after about 18 months. Jobards wines are concentrated but not thick, the wood used is highly dosed and the wines have nice acidity and lots of minerality makes them great to rijpen.Alle wines from winery Jobard be in a vessel old and spend a long sur lie in the cellars from the winery in Meursault.
