Tenuta Sette Ponti is owned by the Moretti family (2nd generation) and is located in the heart of Chianti. The red grape varieties planted are: Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and a very small percentage of other grapes. The soil varies from clay to sandy in combination with limestone. The vines are planted on a soil of clay and sand. The vineyards are located southeast and at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level. The vineyards were planted between 1988 and 1993. Vinification under controlled temperatures in stainless steel barrels for 20 days, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine matures in French oak barriques. The wine then matures in the bottle for 6 months.
The Crognolo Tenuta Sette Ponti is made from Sangiovese 80% with a small percentage of Merlot 10% and Cabernet Sauvignon 10%. It is a Supertuscan through and through and the wine is full bodied with aromas of ripe cherries and berries with a good dose of spiciness for class and complexity. Powerful, well balanced, round tannins and a long aftertaste. Goes perfectly with game and other tasty meat dishes.

A story of passion, dedication, and especially a great love for vineyards and their traditions. Our business philosophy is based on quality, research, long-lasting knowledge, age-old customs, respect for the land and its balance, and staying in step with genuine agricultural and enological expertise.
All these values make up a rich and complex patchwork of stories, elegant olden tales that sometimes get lost over time, like the ones our grandparents might have told us in front of a warm fireplace on cold winter nights, sharing their feelings, their attachment to the land and its sovereign rules, traditions, and a respect for past and future generations.
In 1935, Prince Amedeo of Savoy-Aosta and Viceroy of Ethiopia planted the first vineyards on his property between Florence and Arezzo to celebrate having taken over the Ethiopian Empire. Called the “Vigna dell’Impero” (Vineyard of the Empire), it is home to an ancient Sangiovese clone, which ended up being the only one of its kind. Twenty years later, it inspired Architect Alberto Moretti Cuseri to plant other vineyards and to fully dedicate himself to his passion for viticulture, giving impetus to what today is the Tenuta Sette Ponti.
In 2018, Antonio Moretti Cuseri’s children began collaborating with their father. Amedeo is the winery director and Italian market manager, and Alberto is the communications and export director. This new generation represents the company’s strong values, an expression of tradition and the great passion passed down by their father. A fresh and new vision of wine is strengthened by high-quality wines boasting an international flair, consistently gaining recognition all over the world, and becoming symbols of Italian excellence and authentic style. The Moretti Cuseri family’s wines have become mainstays in the lifestyle, fashion, and event industries as well.
