Description
The 2017 Le Boscq is a medium to deep purple color and is a bit brooding at first, with notes of tar and new leather over a core of warm red and blackcurrants, mulberries and cedarwood plus hints of menthol and pencil. The palate is medium to full, with a firm frame of grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, which supports the muscular red and black fruit and finishes with good length. Despite the fact that this is a full-blood Saint-Estèphe that often needs quite some time, this 2017 Le Bosq can be drunk earlier (expected to be after about 5 years) and the price/quality is excellent. The 2017 is a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot and the wine has Environnement Terra Vitis Certificate

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 le Boscq reveals notes of warm cassis, ripe black plums and boysenberries with hints of charcoal, pencil lead, star anise and bouquet garni. The medium to full-bodied palate is chock-full of crunchy black fruits, framed by ripe, grainy tannins and impressive freshness and finishes with great length and lovely purity.

Château Le Boscq
Château Le Boscq has a rich history dating back to the 19th century. The Château has had several owners over the years, but it still maintains its reputation for producing high-quality wines. The winery is now part of the portfolio of Dourthe, a renowned wine producer in Bordeaux. The winery is located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation and is one of six municipalities with its own appellation in the Médoc, a famous wine-growing region in Bordeaux. It is located north of the Pauillac appellation and is known for producing powerful, tannic wines with great aging potential. Saint-Estèphe has a unique terroir that adds to the characteristic style of the wines. The soil is mainly made up of clay and limestone, which provides excellent water retention. This is especially beneficial in dry years, as it provides the vines with enough water. The presence of gravel and pebbles in the upper layers provides good drainage and heat retention, which contributes to the ripening of the grapes. Wines from Saint-Estèphe are known for their robust and structured character. They are often more deeply colored and have powerful tannins, making them ideal for long-term maturation.
Vineyards
The vineyards of Château Le Boscq cover about 20 hectares and are planted with classic Bordeaux grape varieties:

The vineyards benefit from an excellent terroir, made up of pebble soils that ensure good drainage and favorable ripening of the grapes. This terroir adds to the complexity and structure of the wines. At Château Le Boscq, a lot of attention is paid to winemaking. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected to use only the best fruit. The wines undergo traditional vinification, followed by aging in French oak barrels, adding to their complexity and sophistication.
