2020 Alois Lageder Versalto Pinot Bianco

This wine is a product of the interaction of geological, microclimatic and cultural contrasts. The grapes come partly from the Haberlehof in Pochi on the east side of the Val d'Adige and partly from locations in the valley in Penone above Magrè. In both cases, the vineyards are located at about 500 meters above sea level and offer optimal conditions for the grape variety. Here there is a rather cool mesoclimate with large temperature differences between day and night.

After fermentation, the Versalto Pinot Bianco has matured sur lie for another 3 months on its own fine sediment raised in stainless steel tanks, after which the young wine is allowed to mature for another 9 months in large barrels of Slavonian wood. The Alois Lageder Haberle Pinot Bianco is bright straw yellow in color with green twilight. Very refined, fruity (apple, peach), with supporting spice nuances from the very well integrated wood. Pure, elegant, with characteristic grape aromas, medium body, round and juicy until the final. Do not serve too cold: 10-12°C.

This Pinot Blanc is produced by the Italian winery Alois Lageder located in the Trentino wine region. The winery in Alto Adige has about 50 hectares of its own vineyards, which are managed on the basis of biodynamic principles. This winery's holistic approach is reflected in its viticultural activities, long-standing relationships with numerous grape growers and its ambition to create awareness for an agriculture in tune with nature.
