Nero dAvola
Nero dAvola
The Nero d'Avola is the most important red grape of Sicily and one of the most significant indigenous varieties of Italy. Named after the town of Avola in the deep south of Sicily, its wines are often compared to those made from the Syrah grape. Winemakers brought this grape to the southern tip of the island a few hundred years ago. Today, it is cultivated throughout Sicily.
