Beringer Estate werd in 1876 opgericht door de gebroeders Frederick en Jacob Beringer. Zij emigreerden in de 19e eeuw vanuit Duitsland naar de Verenigde Staten en stichtten daar in Californië het inmiddels vermaarde wijnhuis Beringer. De Beringer Vineyards zijn de oudste wijngaarden van heel Napa Valley en zijn sindsdien altijd zo in bedrijf gebleven. Ook de wijnmakers van Beringer gaan lang mee: de huidige, Laurie Cook, is in de lange historie nog maar de zevende. Het is tekenend voor de continuïteit en consistentie die het bedrijf kenmerken. Vandaag de dag staan de wijnen van Beringer voor prijswinnende kwaliteit. In de Top 100 van het gezag-hebbende wijnblad Wine Spectator heeft het huis zelfs meer vermeldingen dan enig ander wijnbedrijf waar ook ter wereld.
