Beringer Estate was founded in 1876 by brothers Frederick and Jacob Beringer. They emigrated from Germany to the United States in the 19th century and founded the now renowned Beringer winery in California. The Beringer Vineyards are the oldest vineyards in all of Napa Valley and have been in business ever since. The winemakers of Beringer also last a long time: the current one, Laurie Cook, is only the seventh in its long history. It is indicative of the continuity and consistency that characterize the company. Today, Beringer wines stand for award-winning quality. In the Top 100 of the authoritative wine magazine Wine Spectator, the house has more entries than any other wine company anywhere in the world.
The Beringer Estate Chardonnay from the Classic range is a beautiful wood-aged chardonnay in which the vanilla and butterscotch are certainly present, but certainly not predominant, partly due to the beautiful acidity of the cool vineyards. The wine is golden yellow in the glass with aromas of citrus, honey and ripe stone fruit such as apricot. A refreshing, full-bodied wine with luscious fruit flavors where California's signature sunshine greets you.
