Albillo
Albillo
Albillo is a white grape variety. The name Albillo appears as early as the beginning of the 16th century in a document about grape varieties in the regions of Extremadura, Castile-La Mancha and Andalusia. The meaning of the word comes from the Spanish word alba, which means white. The Albillo grape is a strong grower, but the yields of this variety are low. The bunches are small, with the skins of the grapes being thin. Since it blooms early, there is a high chance of night frost and that is the Achilles' heel, because it is otherwise resistant to almost all diseases. The grape is also seen as Spain's hidden treasure because the grape gives mists, well grown and very elegant wines.
