The Dromos is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 15% Alicante, 10% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Franc and is therefore a Supertuscan like many wines from this region (because it does not meet the Sangiovese requirements and style of upbringing according to the old Appelation rules) as also applies, for example, to a Tignanello or Sassicaia). In the glass, Dromos has a deep ruby red color with pronounced aromas of ripe blackcurrant, fruit, licorice, vanilla, tobacco, minerals and balsamic notes. This can rival many Super Tuscans but clearly more wine for the money.

Just 2 km from Montalcino, at an altitude of 375 meters, we find the beautifully situated Casa Raia. The Bevilo is a blend of 90% Sangiovese, supplemented with Cannaiolo, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, which matures for 30 months in French oak. became available at the end of 2021. The Bevilo is full bodied and powerful with a beautiful elegance that is so typical of the wines of Pierre Jean. In the nose we smell notes of dark fruit such as blueberries and raspberries with ripe notes of barrel aging. Ripe forest fruit on the palate, powerful but ripe tannins and a very pleasant freshness in the final.

The Villa Sant' Anna Rosso is the younger brother of the Vino Nobile and is a blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Canaiolo, Mammolo, and Colorino. This juicy wine has the aroma and flavor of black cherries. The palate is complemented by herbs and oak, along with ripe tannins. The Rosso di Montepulciano has considerable depth and personality. Dark cherries, plums, menthol, tobacco, and licorice are just some of the many notes found in this large, rich Rosso. There's no shortage of personality here. This Rosso has the structure for a great drinking window. A lot of wine at an affordable price. The Tuscan hills are in your sights as soon as you pop the cork. Organically grown and VEGAN-certified.

The Poliziano Rosso is a beautiful full red wine with aromas of cherries, plums and some coffee/leather. A juicy attack with lots of red fruit in the taste. It is an accessible wine with lots of taste, nice and juicy, concentrated and has a beautiful aftertaste with fresh acids. The wine is already much more accessible than its big brother the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Robert Parker speaks of "Here's a terrific easy-drinking wine from a classic vintage" and there is nothing to add to that. One of the best Montepluciano's. An impressive quality for the money.

The SJ (SAN JACOPO) Rosso Toscane is a beautiful Rosso but in a different way because SJ comes from a blend of Sangiovese grapes from our own vines and Merlot (often around 40%) from the Bandita vineyard which has matured for 6-9 months in French oak tonneaux. Because of the amount of Merlot this is an IGT and we could call this a Supertuscan. The Rosso Toscane SJ is juicy, rich and expressive and jumps out of your glass with black cherries, tobacco, new leather and liquorice tones. The addition of Merlot gives the wine its richness and generosity in the middle of the taste and makes the wine just a fraction softer while retaining the beautiful quality and freshness of the Sangiovese grape.

The area around Montalcino produces Italy's most famous wines. The best of these comes from the part south of the city. This is where the most famous and beautiful wineries are located, as well as the historic Il Poggione. The high (150-450m) location near the Amiata Mountain and the Tyrrhenian Sea provides an ideal cooling influence and a great microclimate that ensures refinement and freshness in the wines. The Rosso de Montalcino is also jokingly called the baby Brunello. The Rosso is a must-have for all fans of soft, fruity and intense Italian red and this seducer has already won many hearts and is even included in the Wine Spectator Top 100! More accessible than big brother Brunello, but with a character and complexity that you cannot ignore. The 12-month maturation in oak gives the 100% Sangiovese grapes structure and makes the wine silky soft. This Rosso from Tenuta Il Poggione is classic in style, but modern in execution.
