Description
Lightly sparkling, partially fermented red wine from Le Marche with a fruity character and low alcohol.
The Guerrieri winery and its location in the Metauro Valley
Azienda Agraria Guerrieri has been active in the Le Marche region, on the east coast of Italy, since 1800. The estate is located just 12 kilometers from the Adriatic Sea, at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level. The vineyards are located on the eastern bank of the Metauro River, which gives the valley its name. This river is the longest in Le Marche and plays an important role in the local microclimate.
The combination of sea breezes from the east and cooling air from the Apennines from the west creates a mild climate with strong temperature fluctuations. This contributes to an aromatic development of the grapes. Guerrieri works in a sustainable way and produces a wide range of quality wines, including still and sparkling varieties.
Grape varieties, vineyard and harvest of Guerrieri Ale
Guerrieri Ale is a unique partially fermented, slightly sparkling red wine. The wine is made from a blend of Sangiovese and Lacrima , from 15 to 20 year old vines. The vineyards are oriented northeast with a planting density of 3300 vines per hectare. Approximately 2 to 3 kg of grapes are harvested per plant. Before the harvest in September, the grape bunches are carefully thinned, followed by manual selection of the ripest bunches. Thanks to this approach, only the best grapes are used for the production of this wine.
Vinification and maturation of Guerrieri Ale
After harvesting, the grapes are gently pneumatically pressed to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The must undergoes a cold maceration, followed by partial fermentation . The second fermentation takes place according to the Charmat method to create a fine mousse (bubble).
This production method ensures that the natural fruit character is retained, while a light effervescence provides a refreshing and festive style.
Colour, aroma and taste of Guerrieri Ale
Guerrieri Ale has a bright ruby red color with purple reflections. In the nose aromas of violets, roses, black cherry and red currant . These floral and fruity notes are typical of the grape varieties used, especially Lacrima.
In the mouth the wine is harmonious, slightly sweet and fresh , with a soft mousse and a fruity aftertaste. The alcohol percentage is low (7%), with a residual sugar content of 9.5 g/L, making the wine easily digestible and very accessible:contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}.

- Pizza with mozzarella and prosciutto – The fresh mousse and fruit provide a nice contrast to the salty and creamy toppings.
- Chocolate biscotti or cantuccini – A combination that enhances the floral and fruity character of the wine, ideal for a light end to a meal.
- Red fruit salad with mint – The freshness of the wine matches the juiciness and freshness of summer fruit.
