Description
Great bubble from Franciacorta, Lombardia wine region . Made by the special winery Corteaura, founded in 2009 by Federico Fossati who only had one dream: to produce a wine of superior quality in an area with a natural vocation for grape growing. It had to be: a product of absolute top quality, meticulously cared for and defined down to the smallest detail and that was certainly achieved with this delicious Franciacorta Brut.
The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes that are harvested manually at the beginning of August, selected and carefully transported in small boxes. The grapes are gently pressed, fermented in steel tanks at controlled temperature (16 ° C). The basic wines are produced separately for each vineyard and then very skillfully assembled to make the cuvee. Fermentation in the bottle for a period of 30 months in cellars at the constant temperature of 12-15 ° C.
The wine is straw yellow in color and has a fine persistent perlage. On the nose floral and slightly fruity with the typical bread aroma that you get when fermented in the bottle. The wine tastes harmonious, fine, persistent and elegant, bouquet with the well-known characteristics of fermentation in the bottle, hints of bread crust and yeast enriched with subtle hints of citrus and nuts (almonds, hazelnuts and white dry figs).
This beautiful bubble is extremely suitable as an aperitif and also fits very well with dishes based on fish or vegetables, cold pork, white meat, white meat sauce, breaded veal chop, ripe cheese.
Recommended serving temperature: 6 ° C.

Corteaura Franciacorta was founded in 2009 by Federico Fossati. Growing up in Veneto, he wanted to fulfill an oenological dream: to produce a wine of superior quality in an area with a natural vocation for grape growing. It had to be: a product of absolute top quality, carefully cared for and defined down to the smallest detail. After painstaking research in all wine-producing areas of Italy, he recognized the Franciacorta region as one that, above all, would ensure that his wines would have a rich and varied range of undertones. Of the various options in the region, he chose Adro and his age-old tradition. He undertook painstaking restoration work on an old rural building, transforming it into a winery while maintaining full respect for the local territory and surrounding vineyards. The first production was made possible thanks to a chance meeting with Pierangelo Bonomi and his extensive wine experience in the Franciacorta region. Today, Corteaura produces 100,000 bottles and cultivates 6 hectares of vineyards, the majority of which are privately owned, sourcing grapes throughout the Franciacorta region, giving its wines the widest range of scents and fragrances.
"Corte" is not just a word, it is an integral part of the history and etymology of the territory of Winery Coreaura: Franciacorta. The most reliable meaning seems to date back to the Middle Ages when the areas administered by the Benedictine and Cluniacia monks benefited from tax and excise compensation: it was a "curtes francae" region, which is exempt from taxes. "Aura" is a name even older: in Greek mythology, it refers to a nymph, the daughter of Periboea and Lelas, as fast as the wind. From the Greek word "alos" (crown), comes the aura used by the occult to define that elusive region of luminous radiance, invisible to normal perception, which surrounds all living beings. These 2 words have been merged to create a single name that pays homage to the land and to that magical breath of life that can make the fruit of the work in the vineyard unique and superior. The symbol chosen for this name, a turtle, symbolizes a gentle creature with enormous potential in its proverbial slowness and longevity. Letting time take its course is the most important element here in Franciacorta, both in the preparation of cuvee wines and in waiting for their evolution. Slowly. Because the slowness with which winery Coreaura gives life to their wines is the necessary condition for their enjoyment and duration. Vintage after vintage. And every vintage is a good vintage when the land and winery are managed with care and passion.
The Italian Winery Corteaura is located in Lombardia in the municipality of Adro. Beautifully located at the foot of Mount Alto at an altitude of 271 meters above sea level and about 6 km from Lake Iseo. Mount Alto protects the vineyards from wind and fog and promotes an ideal temperate climate for viticulture. The municipal coat of arms of Adro with 3 bunches of grapes on it proves the viticultural vocation of this small town and the surrounding area with roots dating back to the 16th century. The vineyards of Wijnhuis Corteaura are located in the most suitable parts of the various Franciacorta municipalities, where sparkling wines are made at world level.
