Description
Misty Cove is the relatively young wine company of winemaker Andrew Bailey and his Dutch wife Marieke. The grapes come from the best vineyards of Marlborough and Central Otago, which Andrew partly owns. Misty Cove makes pure and especially characteristic wines from these that have already distinguished themselves at a large number of competitions. The company has a great affinity with sustainability. Because Andrew is regularly in our country with his Dutch wife, his wines have now become very well-known in restaurants and wine shops such as Grandcruwijnen.
The Misty Cove Estate Pinot Noir is an inviting and fruity Pinot Noir from New Zealand. The wine has a bright ruby red colour with a subtle purple glow. The aroma mainly features small ripe red fruit, such as berries, raspberries and strawberries. But there is more: you also taste something earthy and sweet herbs. All this in a soft smoky context. An elegant wine with ripe tannins and a refined aftertaste. Delicious to drink as is. Just a little chilled. With food? This can vary from vegetarian to meat, from pasta to fish. Very versatile and easily accessible. Goes well with: bean salad, mushrooms, chicken, sausage, charcuterie, lamb chops, salmon.

"Pristine and brightly expressed with sweet cherry, strawberry, floral, olive and subtle oak characters, its succulent and fleshy in the mouth offering excellent fruit purity and persistency. Splendidly framed by polished tannins, finishing long and velvety. At its best: now to 2025."

2019
"Delightfully ripe and fragrant, the wine shows dark plum, floral, toasted nut and subtle spice notes on the nose, leading to a succulent palate that’s youthfully fruited and immediately appealing. It’s juicy and supple with plenty of tasty flavours. At its best: now to 2023"

2019 Vintage
"Delicately aromatic pinot noir with floral, violet, black cherry, fresh herb and spicy oak flavours. A silken-textured wine, with bright acidity helping to drive a lengthy finish. Good value at this price."
