Description
The Il Conte Villa Prandone Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC 2023 is a refreshing, lively white wine from the Marche region. This wine combines crisp citrus fruit with soft floral notes and a subtle almond finish. Elegant, refined, and perfect for warm days or with light dishes.
The Count Villa Prandone
Il Conte Villa Prandone is a family-run winery located in the heart of the Marche region, near the town of Offida. While primarily known for its red wines, the estate also produces refined whites that remain true to the local character. The Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC is one of the region's most respected appellations and is known for its fresh, mineral-driven style.
Terroir & vineyard
The vineyards are situated on gently rolling hills with chalky clay soils and a perfect southwesterly exposure. The proximity of the Adriatic Sea creates cooling breezes that help the grapes ripen slowly and retain their natural acidity. This results in wines with great tension, depth, and refined aromatic expression.
Grape & vinification
Made from 100% Verdicchio, one of Italy's most versatile white grape varieties. The grapes are harvested at night to prevent oxidation and preserve the freshness of the fruit. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature, after which the wine rests on the fine yeasts for several months. This gives a rounder texture and added depth to the fresh character.
Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC 2023 tasting note
Pale straw yellow in color with slight greenish reflections. The nose is refined with aromas of lemon, white peach, blossom, and a hint of almond. The palate is lively, fresh, and balanced with elegant acidity. The finish is long and slightly mineral, with a characteristic bitterness typical of Verdicchio.
Wine and food pairing & serving tips
Serve at 8–10°C for optimal expression of freshness and aroma. Excellent with shellfish, light fish dishes, pasta with seafood, or grilled vegetables. Also delicious as an aperitif thanks to its refreshing style and delicate balance.
