Description
Marc Colin runs his Domaine together with his two sons. He owns some 17 hectares of vineyards in exclusively top appellations: Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, Premier Cru vineyards in Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin and Pernand-Vergelesses. This is very exceptional. Although this Domaine has always been known for its quality, Colin still sees opportunities to improve it. That is why he is receiving increasingly positive reviews in the international press. Colin's wines excel in purity and combine power with elegance. Perhaps a little shy in their youth, but with enormous storage potential.
The Saint Aubin 1er Cru en Remilly has a typical Puligny-like, mineral-driven bouquet: tight with beautiful hints of chalk. The wine has a perfectly balanced acidity that is right from start to finish. The En Remilly from Marc Collin has a wonderful aging potential whereby this beautiful Burgundian will improve even further with time. Parker writes in his review: "This is superb"
The Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly has beautiful notes with aromas of pear, fresh bread, candied lemon and nutmeg, framed by a promising - at this stage of its élevage - touch of reduction. Medium to full-bodied, it is satiny in the mouth and is very elegant in structure and promises a very long life.

Derived from fully five different parcels in this large and diverse climat, the 2020 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly offers up aromas of citrus oil and peach mingled with freshly baked bread, white flowers and honeycomb. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, it's lively and precise, with fine depth at the core and a long, saline finish. It's a real success this year.
Damien Colin began picking on August 22 in 2020. Now that the domaine is smaller, following his two brothers' secessions, he is able to be ultra precise about harvest date, sampling parcel by parcel, he tells me, and small volumes of wine mean longer élevage is feasible too. Percentages of new oak are down a touch in 2020, with no new wood at all for the grands crus, but foudres and larger barrels are also out of the picture, Damien finding most coopers' 228-liter barrels more consistent, and in any case, better adapted to vinifying smaller quantities. Pure, precise and flavorful, the 2020s are a terrific success at this address.

Marc Colin comes from a wine family in Burgundy with a strong reputation. Together with his two sons, he manages a domain of 20 hectares located in the village of Saint-Aubin in the Côte de Beaune.
Marc Colin's production
He exclusively owns top appellations: Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, Premier Cru vineyards in Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin and Pernand-Vergelesses. This is very exceptional. This domaine is known for its quality, yet Colin sees an opportunity to continually improve this. That is why he is receiving increasingly favorable reviews in the international press. Colin's wines excel in purity and combine power with elegance. Perhaps a bit shy in their youth, but with enormous storage potential. Traditionally minded, he vinifies his wines with a remarkable intuition for nature. Although he is open to innovation, he sticks to a traditional style and strives for optimal freshness in his white wines and avoids the wood-dominated Chardonnay type. He is the most awarded winegrower from St-Aubin and owner of Restaurant Le Chassagne, which has 1 Michelin star.
