Description
Misty Cove is the relatively young wine company of winemaker Andrew Bailey and his Dutch wife Marieke. The grapes come from the best vineyards of Marlborough and Central Otago, which Andrew partly owns. Misty Cove makes pure and above all characteristic wines that have already distinguished themselves at a large number of competitions. The company has a great affinity with sustainability. Because Andrew is regularly in our country through his Dutch wife, his wines are now well known in restaurants and wine specialty shops such as Grand Cru wines.
The Misty Cove Organic Sauvignon Blanc comes from the top range of this beautiful winery, made with respect for nature. Certified organic by BioGro. This organic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc delivers beautiful flavors and great mouthfeel with lingering mineral notes. Bright citrus notes of lemon, lime and mandarin abound on the nose, these notes go well with freshly cut grass and light flint. The taste is elegant and refined, with delicate acidity balanced by a wonderful natural sweetness.
93/100 - "Fabulously ripe and enticing, the bouquet shows apricot, poached pear, feijoa and floral aromas, leading to an elegant yet flavoursome palate that's supple and lingering. Beautifully composed and soothing with delicious flavours. At its best: now to 2025 ."

"Offering terrific fruit purity and power, the wine shows Gala apple, feijoa, kaffir lime and lemon peel aromas on the nose. It’s concentrated and brilliantly focused with fine texture and zesty acidity, finishing impressively long and linear. At its best: now to 2023."

"From a single vineyard in the Central Wairau Valley. Moderately intense sauvignon blanc with lime, grapefruit, passionfruit, capsicum and fresh herb flavours. A tangy wine with a backbone of assertive acidity."

The Philosophy of Misty Cove Wines
"You can talk about wine, but wine is better to be talked around – in the company of good friends, family, and perhaps the odd stranger. That's why we say: 'Wine for good times,' because we believe that Misty Cove Wines is more than just a product – it’s a story. And the best place to tell great stories is around great wine. Thankfully, we are bloody phenomenal at giving you both."
