Château d'Issan is one of the most beautiful buildings in the Médoc and rightly bears the name 'Château'. The beautiful 17th century architecture can be found not only in the chateau itself, but also in the wine cellars. The history of the wine itself is just as rich. The French and English royal families served this wine at weddings and parties, as did the Austrian Court. The motto of Issan can be found on the chic gold label: “Regum mensis aris que deorum”.

Blason d'Issan, the second wine, was introduced from 1995 onwards to allow selection from our vines growing in the Margaux appellation area. Fruit from the youngest vines is used to produce this wine, which respects the identity of its terroir while offering a tasty round fruitiness, which you can enjoy earlier than its big brother (or sister) Blason d'Ussan is also aged for 14 to 16 months in barrels, one third of which are new. The Blason D'Issan is a blend of 57% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in colour is the Blason d'Issan. On the nose it smells of earth, spices, warm plums and cassis with hints of tar. The taste is medium to full, firm and grainy with a lively backbone and savoury finish. Decant in its early years

FACT: It is worth mentioning that we buy the Bordeaux directly and never through the middleman because then we do not know which journeys the wine has made and how it has been treated. The wines come from the cellars in the Chateau directly to our conditioned Warehouse in Dordrecht. The wine is in our conditioned Wine Warehouse and if you come to collect the wine you often also receive a nice discount. You will see your discount immediately when you choose 'Collection' on the checkout page. We are located in Dordrecht with plenty of parking. Click here for our address.

Before the tables of kings and the altars of the gods. For the current director, Emmanuel Cruse, the history is of course important, but for him it is mainly about the quality of the wines. Under Emmanuel, huge investments were made in the quality of the vineyards and in modern cellar equipment. This troisième grand cru classé from Margaux was brought back to the top of the appellation under his inspiring leadership. The vineyard, measuring 30 hectares, is located on the edge of the Gironde. So perfectly situated. Since 2013, the Cruse family has sold 50% of the property to Jacky Lorenzetti (Ch. Pedesclaux & Ch. Lilian Ladouys), the remaining 50% remains with the Cruse family.
