The Château de Lavagnac is a blend of 75% Merlot; 20% Cabernet Sauvignon; 5% Cabernet Franc. The owners of Château de Lavagnac are Michèle & Philippe RIVIÈRE - no stranger to Bordeaux and the wine world. The vineyards are located in the town of Sainte Terre, 5 km south of the city of Saint Emilion.
In total, the vineyards cover a total of 20 hectares and are located on a limestone plateau with a layer of clay and sand. We work sustainably with virtually no weed killer or fertilizer (HVE level 3). THE vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats at a low temperature for 12 days to extract as many aromas as possible in peace. I then choose to age the wine in stainless steel so that this is a fresh, fruity and not a heavy or bombastic red Bordeaux.
The harmonious balance of these grape varieties in this Château de Lavagnac Bordeaux Rouge gives it great finesse. The constant work carried out in the vineyard (green pruning, removing leaves, etc.) in the purest tradition of the Bordeaux region allows one to obtain a wine with balanced, fruity tannins and great freshness on the palate. The Château de Lavagnac is a perfect companion for drinking a nice tasty glass of wine with good company and is also an excellent accompaniment to pasta or lasagna bolognese, pizza and delicious with a stew such as a hash.
FACT: This wine is also part of our Bordeaux Greatest Selection box and can of course also be ordered separately. In the Tab: Appendix you will find the official fact sheet of this beautiful wine. We will send it to you automatically when you order this wine. The wine is stored in our conditioned Wine Warehouse and when you collect the wine you will often receive a nice discount (if you choose Collect on the Checkout page you will immediately see the discount).
