2018 Château de Lavagnac Bordeaux Rouge
The Château de Lavagnac is a blend of 75% Merlot; 20% Cabernet Sauvignon; 5% Cabernet Franc. The owners of Château de Lavagnac are Michèle & Philippe RIVIÈRE - no stranger to Bordeaux and the wine world. The vineyards are located in the town of Sainte Terre, 5 km south of the city of Saint Emilion.
In total, the vineyards cover a total of 20 hectares and are located on a limestone plateau with a layer of clay and sand. We work sustainably with virtually no weed killer or fertilizer (HVE level 3). THE vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats at a low temperature for 12 days to extract as many aromas as possible in peace. I then choose to age the wine in stainless steel so that this is a fresh, fruity and not a heavy or bombastic red Bordeaux.
The harmonious balance of these grape varieties in this Château de Lavagnac Bordeaux Rouge gives it great finesse. The constant work carried out in the vineyard (green pruning, removing leaves, etc.) in the purest tradition of the Bordeaux region allows one to obtain a wine with balanced, fruity tannins and great freshness on the palate. The Château de Lavagnac is a perfect companion for drinking a nice tasty glass of wine with good company and is also an excellent accompaniment to pasta or lasagna bolognese, pizza and delicious with a stew such as a hash.

GILBERT ET GAILLARD 2018 79/100
« Light garnet colour. A slightly voluble nose, discreetly fruity (strawberry, redcurrant). The palate displays a fluffy texture, a tender and simple fruit, a freshness of good aloi. A ready to use vintage on grilled meat.»
Gold Medal GILBERT ET GAILLARD 2017
« Beautiful deep ruby colour. Deep nose, floral notes and small red fruits. On the palate, it is a supple, easy-drinking Bordeaux, with a preference for fruit. The finish remains clean and fragile. A beautifully crafted Bordeaux.»
