Description
The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet from Domaine Bachelet-Monnot is a refined white wine from Burgundy, produced by brothers Marc and Alexandre Bachelet. Since its founding in 2005, the estate has built an impressive reputation for wines that exude freshness and vitality.
The Bachelet-Monnot Chassagne-Montrachet has a beautiful bouquet with aromas of lemon, lime blossom, grapefruit, and a hint of honey. The palate is well-balanced with fine acidity, fresh and focused, medium-bodied, elegant, and well-balanced with the aromatic intensity.
This wine pairs perfectly with seafood, poultry, and dishes with creamy sauces. Serve at 10-12°C to fully appreciate the fresh aromas and flavors.
Domaine Bachelet-Monnot
The Bachelet family is very well-known in the Côte d'Or, owning plots in some of Burgundy's most famous vineyards. Despite this, the family experienced some disagreements about the estate's operations. The youngest generation, brothers Marc and Alex, remained unfazed and studied viticulture at university and completed internships elsewhere in France and the United States. Upon returning to Burgundy, their grandfather decided to give parts of his land not to his own sons, but to his two grandsons. From day one, both boys devoted themselves wholeheartedly to their new endeavors. 2005 was the first vintage that Marc and Alex Bachelet worked independently. What they share is that they are both enormous perfectionists and incredibly eager to learn. They constantly strive to improve and perfect the estate, and with each visit, changes have been made, from the size of the barrels and the duration of the aging process to the cellar temperature. In addition to the great wines they make in the prestigious villages of Puligny and Chassagne, Marc and Alexandre Bachelet also make exemplary wines in Maranges and Santenay.

The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Village has a nicely detailed bouquet of citrus lemon, lime flower, grapefruit and a touch of honeysuckle. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Fresh and focused, the 2020 shows moderate weight and a slightly conservative finish compared to the aromatics. Let’s see if it develops more personality once in bottle.

The Bachelet family is well known in the Côte d'Or, they own plots on some of the most famous vineyards in Burgundy. Despite this, the family had some disagreements about the state of affairs on the domain. The youngest generation, the brothers Marc and Alex, did not panic and meanwhile studied viticulture at the university and did internships elsewhere in France and America. When they returned to Burgundy, their grandfather decided not to give parts of his land to his own sons, but to his two grandsons. From day one, both boys devoted themselves to their new activities with great dedication.
2005 was the first harvest year that Marc and Alex Bachelet worked independently. The gentlemen have in common that they are both huge perfectionists and also very eager to learn. They continuously try to improve and perfect things on the domain and with every visit things have changed again, from the size of the barrels, the duration of the education, to the temperature of the cellar. Besides the great wines they make in the prestigious villages of Puligny and Chassagne, Marc and Alexandre Bachelet also make exemplary wines in Maranges and Santenay.
