Château Rauzan-Ségla has a long and storied history dating back to the 17th century. The estate was originally part of the larger Rauzan estate, which was split into four separate properties in 1762. The portion that would become Rauzan-Ségla was acquired by Nicolas-Alexandre de Ségla, and the estate has borne his name ever since. Over the years, the property has changed hands several times and has experienced periods of prosperity and decline. In the late 19th century, the estate was owned by the Frey family. However, like many properties in Bordeaux, it faced challenges during the phylloxera and economic downturn. In 1994, Château Rauzan-Ségla was purchased by the Wertheimer family, who also own the famous luxury goods company Chanel. The Wertheimers have invested in the estate and worked to restore its reputation for producing high-quality wines.

The 2020 Rauzan-Ségla was aged for 18 months in 60% new oak barrels. The 2020 has very classic aromas of blackberries, crushed stone, wilted flowers and a hint of orange blossom. The aromas are beautifully defined. The palate is medium-bodied with finely powdered tannins supporting crystal clear black fruits, mixed with light graphite. Full of energy and tension from start to finish. A very nice Margaux with unanimously very high scores.

This is a 1.5 liter magnum. Even tastier and has an even longer drinking window .
