2019 Sibiliana Eughenes Etna Rosso

Sibiliana Vini is the project by Cantine Europa with the aim of being the custodian of the authentic Sicilian wine traditions and autotochthonous grapes. "Sibiliana Vini" is supported by highly qualified technical staff whose aim is the careful selection of the grapes, innovation and experimentation in the production process, expressing all the variety and peculiarities of the Sicilian territory. This makes it possible, with a view to continuous evolution, to achieve high quality production standards, combining the support of both the local economy and the protection of the environment, factors appreciated today by our attentive consumers about the whole world.

Now you have many typical Sicilian wines, but for us the wines from the slopes of Mount Etna always stand out. The altitude, soil composition and native grapes such as Nerello Mascallese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante produce wines that are unique and excel in elegance with Burgundy characteristics. We now already carry the top wines from Palari , but the challenge with Etna wines is the very limited range. Often only a few thousand wines are made, so for that reason we have also added the beautiful Etna wines from Sibiliana Vini to our range.

The Sibiliana Eughenes Etna Rosso is a great wine made from the typical Sicilian Etna grape, the Nero Nerello Mascalese, located at an altitude of over 500 meters on the northeast side of the Etna volcano. After picking, the grapes are carefully combined and the wine then matures for twelve to fifteen months in tonneaux and barriques, large and small wooden oak barrels. The long maturation allows the tannins and naturally occurring acidity in the Nero Mascalese to integrate very nicely. In the glass, the Sibiliana Eughenes Etna Rosso has a beautiful fresh bright red color. The nose smells fresh red fruit such as raspberry and red cherry, but also balsamic vinegar and spices. In the mouth the wine is beautifully balanced. There is everything but not too much of anything. We do not hide it: We are a great lover of the Etna Terroir wines!!
