La Pousse d'Or and the Les Amoureuses vineyard

La Pousse d'Or is a respected estate in the Côte d'Or region, respecting terroir and employing a classic approach. The team works diligently to craft wines that truly reflect the soil and climate. The cuvée from Les Amoureuses is among the estate's most refined wines. Additional detailed background information is available under the Winery tab.

Pinot Noir, vinification and maturation

The wine is 100 percent Pinot Noir. The grapes are hand-picked and rigorously selected. Vinification is traditional, with gentle extraction and controlled temperatures to preserve the purity of the fruit. After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak; the aging process is carefully balanced so that the oak plays only a supporting role, preserving the fruit's integrity.

This classic maturation allows the wine to retain its finesse and structure. The balance between fruit, acidity, tannins, and minerality is subtle and harmonious. This approach ensures that the wine already displays charm, but also has the potential to develop further.

Color, aroma and taste profile of the 2019

In the glass, the wine reveals a bright ruby red with elegant reflections. The nose is delicate and refined, with fresh aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry. Floral notes of violet and rose open, along with subtle spices and a light, earthy minerality. This combination of fruit and elegance immediately creates an inviting profile.

On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied. Fine, supple tannins embrace the fruit. The red berry fruit remains pure and bright, with acidity that adds freshness and tension. The structure is supple, the texture silky. The minerality adds finesse and length. The finish is elegant, with a mix of fruit, floral notes, soft spices, and a velvety aftertaste.

Future and aging potential of the 2019 Les Amoureuses

The 2019 harvest produced perfect grapes under favorable conditions, giving this wine both ripe fruit and precise structure. The balance of fruit, floral elegance, and minerality makes it a wine that is already enjoyable, but also has the potential to develop further over the next 10 to 15 years. Finesse and delicacy remain, ensuring the style remains elegant without becoming heavy.
