Description
Winery Emil Bauer & Söhne is a family business run by the fifth generation: Alexander and Martin Bauer. The best conditions for viticulture can be found in the picturesque Nußdorf in Rhineland-Palatinate. The drastic improvements in the barrel cellar and the wine press have made the quality of the wines even better in recent years and that is why both winemakers were nominated ' Newcomer of the Year' at the Falstaff . A large number of grape varieties are grown here, which is typical of the Palatinate. In addition to classics such as riesling, grauburgunder, weißburgunder and silvaner, there are also international varieties such as merlot, cabernet sauvignon and sauvignon blanc. But all this is nothing compared to what the brothers have developed in the field of label design. The revolutionary 'Just Riesling' label is already a legend and the other provocative labels are just as successful; each label tells a part of the life of the two brothers, about who they are and how they think. The Just Riesling series are also the high-end wines of Emil Bauer
The My Merlot is not the Answer. I just makes you forget the Question is a 100% merlot from the Pflaz which is without doubt the most beautiful area for the red grapes. The wine has been aged in wood for 3-4 months. The merlot is dark red in the glass. In the nose nice and fresh notes of doner fruits such as currant and blackberry. In the mouth the wine is medium bodied, fruity with cherry and berry again and the wine ends with soft tannins and a round finish. Do not drink this wine too warm and we recommend around 16/17 degrees. The wine is a good accompaniment to lamb and hard cheeses and in addition to the content, the selection is also controversial on the table.
“My Merlot. Another whole philosophical treatise on the label below. "My Merlot is not the answer. It just makes you forget the question". What is this all about? About a dark-skinned, shady red. Leather boots, tannin reins and oak fittings. Anyone else have a question? What do we eat with it? Good question. Wild duck. mushrooms. Lamb stew”, Harold Hamersma in De Grote Hamersma 2018, rated with an 8.
