The Signature is specially dedicated to everyone who has made a difference to the Yalumba company since its inception. Yalumba is characterised as a family business with a modern vision that takes its responsibility for the natural environment seriously. The 2018 is dedicated to Nick Waterman. Nick started as General Manager in 2003 and became Managing Director in 2015.

After picking the Shiraz and Cabernet grapes from the best plots of Yalumba, the wine ages for 19 months in 25% new French barriques and Hungarian barriques. After bottling, the wine is given some time to mature in the bottle. The Yalumba The Signature Cabernet - Shiraz comes from the impressive 2018 vintage. In the glass it has a medium ruby red color with fresh aromas of mint, blueberries, small red berries and cedar notes in the glass. A light leafy aroma appears as the wine opens up more over time. A refined and complex taste that is wonderfully fresh with seamlessly integrated oak. Generous red berries are wrapped in fine-grained tannins. A medium to full-bodied wine with long, flowing tannins. A very refined 'Signature'. Delicious with slow-cooked beef tenderloin, potatoes, charred beetroot and horseradish or a West Indian spiced aubergine curry.

Parker writes in his review (96/100): ".....This is one of the more impressive Signatures in recent times. It will cellar with grace and ease"

Founded in 1849, Yalumba is Australia's most historic family-owned wine company. 'Yalumba' in the Aboriginal language means 'All the land around'. Proud of its history, for more than 168 years, Yalumba preserves certain traditions such as producing its own wine barrels. Yalumba is one of the few wineries in the world that enjoys the privilege of having a cooperage on its own property. Yalumba is also one of the most influential producers of Viognier in the world. After Viognier was first planted in 1980, the company's winemaking experience and winemaking continues to evolve with this attractive grape. As an independent, family-owned business, Yalumba Winery is very progressive. Experiments are constantly being carried out in the field of winemaking and grape growing to continue building Yalumba's reputation as an innovative winery. Today, Yalumba Winery is officially part of parent company Hill-Smith Family Vineyards, which also includes Oxford Landing Estate, Nautilus Estate from Marlborough, New Zealand and Jansz Premium Sparkling Wines from Tasmania.
