Description
Yalumba Samuel's Collection is a tribute to Samuel Smith, the founder of Yalumba, his independent spirit and belief in investing in land and making fine wines. This cell phone comes from the Barossa - where the most beautiful Grenache-Shiraz and Mataro (=mourvedre/monastrell) come from. The Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro are picked separately for this wine and fermented in small batches - some in oak barrels and some in stainless steel barrels. The subsequent wine was aged for 11 months in new French oak hogsheads (13%) and in old French, Hungarian and American oak hogsheads. French oak barriques allow the wines to develop without the influence of much oak flavor while increasing texture and complexity.
The Yalumba Samuel's Collection Grenache-Shiraz-Mataro is vibrant ruby red in color, the wine is very aromatic with layers of blueberries, rhubarb, crushed rose petals and cinnamon. The palate is juicy and bright with blueberry aromas and chocolate-like tannins. Enjoy this wine with Kung Pao Chicken or Pad Thai with fried tofu.
FACT: The wine is in our conditioned Wine Warehouse and if you pick up the wine you will often receive a nice discount. You will see your discount immediately when you choose 'Collect' on the checkout page. We are located in Dordrecht almost next to the A16 with plenty of parking. Click here for our address.

This has the freshness of raspberry-scented grenache, framed in deeper blueberries, blackberries and plums. The palate is so soft and fleshy with pillowy mid-palate tannins. Medium body. Drink now. Screw cap.

Founded in 1849, Yalumba is Australia's most historic family-owned wine company. 'Yalumba' in the Aboriginal language means 'All the land around'. Proud of its history, for more than 168 years, Yalumba preserves certain traditions such as producing its own wine barrels. Yalumba is one of the few wineries in the world that enjoys the privilege of having a cooperage on its own property. Yalumba is also one of the most influential producers of Viognier in the world. After Viognier was first planted in 1980, the company's winemaking experience and winemaking continues to evolve with this attractive grape. As an independent, family-owned business, Yalumba Winery is very progressive. Experiments are constantly being carried out in the field of winemaking and grape growing to continue building Yalumba's reputation as an innovative winery. Today, Yalumba Winery is officially part of parent company Hill-Smith Family Vineyards, which also includes Oxford Landing Estate, Nautilus Estate from Marlborough, New Zealand and Jansz Premium Sparkling Wines from Tasmania.
