Description
Domaine Roux-Duval is a combination of 2 icons and consists of two historic wine-growing families who are specialized in the great Chardonnays of Burgundy and Champagne. It was born from the friendship between Christian Roux and Jean-Charles Duval. Their dream to create an exceptional domain together was finally realized 25 years later by their respective sons, Sébastien Roux and Edouard Duval. The Roux-Duval Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Abbaye de Morgeot is of course a 100% Chardonnay coming from a small plot of which only around 600-700 bottles come from. After the manual harvest, the wine stays in oak for about 16 months, of which about 20% is new French oak and the rest 2nd and 3rd year. In the glass, the wine has a beautiful straw yellow color with green accents and golden sparkles. Aromas of blossom, acacia and hints of hazelnut and fresh butter. The wine has a deep minerality and notes of honey and ripe pear. It is full-bodied with a surprisingly zesty acidity. Spicy and spicy with a tense, phenolic finish.
